Event Description

Join Adam Liaw for a deliciously immersive evening, as he investigates the science and history of our five tastes – sweet, bitter, salty, sour and umami.

In this intimate talk, Adam unravels how taste has shaped our food, our society and our planet; drawing from research and interviews with some of the world’s top chefs as part of his new Audible Original podcast, How Taste Changed the World.

Speak directly with Adam to uncover how our biology is the key to why we like red wine with steak, or tea with dumplings, and learn how our taste buds have built empires, started wars, established democracy and create financial systems.
